Our Recent Successes Include
- 2019 – Completed a capital campaign for the River Ramble Natural PlayScape to be built in 2020 at St. Patrick’s County Park
- 2019 - Expanded funding to accommodate three South Bend Schools to participate in Tales to Trails, a literacy and environmental education series for first grade classes.
- 2019 - Funded the purchase of new canoes and kayaks for the rental fleet at St. Patrick’s County Park
- 2019 – Funded habitat restoration work at Spicer Lake Nature Preserve and the Studebaker Tree Sign at Bendix Woods County Park
- 2018 - Obtained grants from area Questers groups to refurbish the 1927 Champion windmill, St. Patrick’s County Park.
- 2018 – Matched a gift from the Pfeil Pfamily Pfund to replace disc golf baskets, at Ferrettie-Baugo Creek County Park.
- 2018 – Supported StoryWalk ®, a literacy and outdoor family experience in partnership with the St. Joseph County Public Library, NIPSCO and area donors, Bendix Woods and St. Patrick’s County Parks.
- 2018 - Funded Tales to Trails, in two South Bend Schools, A literacy and environmental education series for first grade classes.
- 2018- Funded the local match for the LaSalle Trail final phase and the State Line Crossing
- 2017 - Received grant for trail improvements at Spicer Lake Nature Preserve
- 2017 - Participated in Give Local St. Joseph County
- 2016 - Received grant for Pond Observation platform at Bendix Woods
- 2015 - Participated in Give Local St. Joseph County to raise funds for the endowment
- 2015 - Received grants / donations for the Studebaker Tree sign management work
- 2015 - Established the St. Joseph County Parks Fund, an endowment in the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County
- 2015 - Received habitat improvement grant for Bendix Woods
- 2014 - Received grant for interpretive signage for Studebaker Tree Sign at Bendix Woods
- 2014 - Received grant for pond shoreline restoration at Bendix Woods
- 2014 - Received grant from Bike Michiana Coalition for LaSalle Trail
