Established by the Indiana Department of Correction in September of 1999, Community Transition Program (CTP) seeks to provide reintegration services to individuals returning from incarceration in IDOC facilities. Both male and female clients may serve the final 60 to 180 days of their sentence in Community Transition if approved by the sentencing judge. Though assistance in finding a job is given priority, offenders are eligible for most other services provided by SJCCC & are subject to electronic monitoring requirements if determined to be appropriate. The State pays for the majority of this program & saves Indiana taxpayers nearly half the cost of housing for each day served here instead of in prison.
