    Enjoy St. Joseph County Parks this fall on a FREE guided hike! Hikes will explore different aspects of our natural world as we visit a different park each week. Come see what your parks have to offer! Hikes will last approximately 60 minutes. Registration is not required. All hikes begin at 10 am, weather conditions permitting.     Learn how to observe the present moment and really experience it, without judging it as good or bad. Practice mindful breathing and explore mindfulness through the senses. Finish with a mindful walk. Bring a journal if you would like. This class is presented by Nancy Coiro, a Certified Mindfulness Teacher. Registration and payment are required by September 21.

    Look and listen for migrating warblers, thrushes, vireos, and more. Enjoy coffee and light breakfast snacks before heading out on the trail. Bring binoculars if you have them; loaners will be available. Registration is required by September 24.

    For adults, 18 and up. Learn basic fishing skills, fish biology, cleaning, filleting, and preparing. All equipment provided, but feel free to bring your own. This is a Free Fishing Day in Indiana, so a fishing license is not needed. This workshop is a partnership with the Indiana DNR Division of Fish and Wildlife. Registration is required at www.in.gov/dnr/fishwild

    Gate fee in effect! These dates only, Indiana residents may fish without a state fishing license in Indiana waters. Free Fishing Days were created by the Indiana General Assembly in 1995 and are designated each year by the director of the Department of Natural Resources to promote angling as a recreational activity. Free gate fee for those fishing just show us your fishing pole!

  10. History and Hayride

    Enjoy a fall hayride through historic Bendix Woods County Park. We will stop along the way and tour different areas of the park including the Sugar House, Studebaker Tree sign, and Clubhouse. Warm-up afterward by the campfire with hot cocoa and a treat. Registration and payment are required by September 22.
